Geri’s Rating: 4 pairs of reading glasses!

I have two words to say to the authors of Secrets of Success, who are identical twins. Thank you. I'm a passionate and participatory reader. If you're like me, you will meet many if not all of your heavenly guides while reading Secrets of Success by Sandra Anne Taylor and Sharon A. Klingler. These women take the wonder out of the laws of the universe. They eliminate, “I wonder if I'm doing it right?” And illuminate how to connect with Higher Self/Universe/God/All That Is.

What I liked most about Secrets of Success is the exercises. Sandra and Sharon will bring you, even if kicking and screaming, to your Higher Self if you stop and listen to yourself as directed throughout the book. Just reading this tome will connect you to the Divine. Their words are a B-Line to your Higher Self and the many discoveries in between.

These writers hit on many subjects that are written about elsewhere, but they literally add a new dimension to the point of views already out there in the growing metaphysical community. The authors discuss the importance of daily moving, breathing and meditating. They describe the chakras, M theory and the 11th dimension, a place you may know about intellectually, but during the reading of this book, you may experience it organically, like I did.

I found one of the most beneficial parts of this book was information on energy. Written by Taylor, who is a New York Times Best seller, it reveals how to attract energy. You learn how to work with it, mold it and use it to your advantage. Parts of this book I plan to read many times over in order to continue to learn how stuff works, in particular, how to work with the Law of Attraction.

Speaking of the Law of Attraction it is here I find it curious that the authors don’t mention the modern day Grandparents of the theory. Any discussion of the Law of Attraction, without a tip of the hat to Esther and Jerry Hicks and the Abraham Teachings is wanting. I was confused about the absence of a mention.

While my confusion at the absence of a small tribute to the Abraham Teachings, I received too much information from the respected Candace Pert, Ph. D., in the book’s forward. The words offered by Dr. Pert, an author I admire and respect, would have benefited with more editing and focus. Dr. Pert, when writing a forward, give us more about the authors and not about your own work. Dr.Pert is the author of Molecules of Emotion. She appeared in the 2004 film What the #$*! Do We Know!? I wondered if you read the book.

Speaking of editing, I think the book tried to do too much. Specifically, I would have omitted or placed Sandra's work on deconstructing your life and building it up in a positive way at the beginning of the book. It would be more beneficial for the reader to start with Part III "Flip That Life!" For me, after having so many loving experiences throughout the book, coming to Part III was a bit of a downer, if not a flat-liner. In fact, did you really need the Part III in this material? I would have advised that you save the material for another book, where you could go more in depth, which is what is needed for this type of work. For me, it mixed the energy of what was offered. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea to deconstruct the pain in our lives. But I don’t think this was the place to do it.

With that said, I cannot emphasize enough, how important Ms. Taylor and Ms. Klingler’s book is. If you could get past Part III, you will learn how to use the Law of Attraction. The authors help you connect with those you love on the other side, your personal guides and your Higher Self. If you are not aware of them already, the authors will help you discover your chakras, the 11th dimension and how to use energy to help you with your life's purpose. And if at this moment you are wondering what your life's purpose is, the authors have the answer to that as well: It is to love and be loved by others. If you are interested in any or all of these guidance tools, I recommend you run, not walk to your nearest Hay House distributor and pick up a copy of Secrets of Success. It will help you navigate your Soul and your part in this physical world.

This book is chock full of useful information. My minor comments on organization will help you navigate the authors’ material. Kudos goes to the graphics department at Hay House for a beautiful cover and page layout. My blessings to the authors. Thank you for sharing all this beautiful information. I give this book a rating of 4 pairs of reading glasses.

Do you mind?

The Source of Joy Within by Bhaskar Perinchery is published by I.M.U. Inner Metamorphosis University http://www.innermetamorphosisuniversity.org

On a scale of 1 to 5, I rate this book 5 pairs of reading glasses!

It takes a year to read The Source of Joy Within. You are asked to reflect on each of the twelve chapters for a month at a time. Talk about a bang for your buck. This book actually didn’t cost me anything because a friend gave it to me. It’s written by one of her spiritual teachers, Bhashkar Perinchery. He spends some of his time in Germany, some here in Chicago where his publishing company is on Howard Street.

I’m up to Chapter 3 in the book. I have to admit to reading at least the headlines of all the other chapters as I can’t stand suspense of not knowing what’s ahead. (I know, I should trust more, but I’m evolving.). I’m like that with movies, too. I like to know the ending before I see the film. I am impatient. And The Source of Joy Within actually addresses impatience. I didn’t read about all of it, but it’s coming. For some reason, that’s one thing I can wait for.

I’m reading Chapter 3. In all the chapters, there are reflections, Bhaskar calls them reminders. In Chapter 3, the reminder concerns the mind. It reminds us about the challenge of using the mind rather than being used by it. I like this reflection, or reminder, because so often my mind dictates what is going on my life and how I feel. This Chapter reminds me to stop and think, at least seven times a day, what is going on with my being? Am I using my mind or is it using me?

Today I was at church and thinking about things in my life. It was a perfect place to reflect. Then, I thought. Hm, I’m thinking. Are the things I’m thinking about controlling me, or am I controlling them? Maybe they’re divine thoughts, I thought. As I was in church, maybe my thoughts were supposed to come to me in that way at that time. I toyed with that for awhile in an effort to hold onto them. Then I let them go.

I just let them go. When I wasn’t thinking, I felt whole. It was like my whole being was present, and not just my mind. Today, I felt my being in my arms, my legs, all around me. That’s what happens when you give your mind a rest.

I look forward to reading the other chapters in Bashkar’s book. Since Cynthia gave me this present, I’ve been learning more about The Source of Joy Within. The title fits the book. And you know what else fits? The graphics. The pictures are beautiful. Kudos to the layout and book designer Debbie Mackall of Dimensions in Media, Inc. Debbie does a good job mixing color, pictures and typeface beautifully. The book itself adds joy to an already joyful message.

Yes, I rate Bashkar Perinchery’s The Source of Joy Within, a 5!
